What a beautiful thing, God, to give thanks, to sing an anthem to you, the High God!
To announce your love each daybreak,
sing your faithful presence all through the night,
Accompanied by dulcimer and harp,
the full-bodied music of strings.
I remember reading a long time ago that people seek God more when their lives are falling apart or tragedy strikes. But, if things are going well, God can often be the first to go. At first I thought this was so odd, but if you really think about it, it makes a ton of sense. When we need things from God we seek him yet when God is blessing us we forget that he is even the blesser.
Today I received some really great news. I actually got a job position that I applied for within my district. I am currently a traveling PE teacher which means that I travel to several different schools during the day to teach, but today I received a position I have been desiring at one school. This will add some more stability to my day and allow me to build better relationships with the students and staff at my new school. I am stoked. I love my current job but I am really excited at being in one building all day next year.
I have been blessed. As I talked about above I often have a tendency to pray for what I want but forget to give thanks when God answers my prayers.
Thank you Lord for my new position. In a world of layoffs and cutbacks this is close to a miracle. Thank you for being present in my life and caring about me. Help me to lean on you in all areas of my life and help me trust in you. Thank you for this opportunity!
