Mom and Boys

Figuring it out one day at a time.

Pimped out carseat.

The day I got home from the hospital I was inspired.

Nobody gets to breath their germy, gross breath on my baby.

Oh to the no.

I have never been one to care about germs, but Baby Bo needs some protection.

From the elements and the sickies.

I made him a carseat cover hangy thing.

Since that was all cute now, I didn’t want to put it on my hand-me-down 90’s carseat.

So I covered that too.

I am kind of getting into this sewing thing.

I wish I would have rounded the edges of the carseat cover but other than that, for just winging it, I think it is pretty much what I wanted.

Bo looks super cute in it.

And no one can bother him, and the cold can’t touch him.

Operation Keep Bo Healthy is in effect.

Move over Martha.

I made a rag quilt.

And a floor cushion.

I made this rag quilt in about 24 hours.

I started it one night after the kids went to sleep,

And finished it the next morning.

I really love it.

I can’t wait to make more.

This is the second floor cushion I have made for the boys this week.

The other one is a completely different style.

I didn’t use any tutorial or pattern to make this.

It was just a wing it type of project.

And I think it turned out pretty well.

Linc is a fan.

3 Hour Quilt: Did it!

I am a novice sewer.

I cracked open my new sewing machine just a few months ago with not a clue what I was doing.

And bam.

Now I’m a quilter.

Sorta, just because I am not that good at it yet.

When my mom was in town she helped me learn some of the basics of quilting.

The real challenging part was the trim.  I think there is another name for it but quilting lingo has yet to be engrained in my brain.

My first quilt was solid fabric where the quilting created the pattern.

I think it turned out pretty cute.

My next quilt I used some patterns and sewed strips together.

I used a tutorial for a 3 hour quilt and I think it turned out pretty well.

I did time it just to be terd.

I didn’t think it would actually take 3 hours but it actually came pretty close.

I didn’t have 3 solid hours in a row to work on this but I did do most of it on Monday night when I was sans kiddos.

And finished it Tuesday morning.

3.5 hours to be exact.

I think it is cute for only my second quilt.  I am quite proud.

3 hr quilt

So now I am addicted.

I am bidding on Ebay fabrics and getting ready for my next project.

A quilt for BoBo.

What do you think of the fabric choice???

I think it is going to be pretty cute.

I just hope I don’t screw it up.
